"We’re on a mission from God."
We’re putting the crew back together! Since we started the crew, we’ve been talking about putting together a reality tv show. Last year we even signed with a production company and supposedly had some meetings with Touchstone about putting it on ABC. Production companies are flakey, Embora, so a few weeks ago I started exploring the project. I figured that Joey’s monstrous win has made the crew a hot enough topic to start getting some big players noticing.
I am now happy to say that the production funds have been put together and a reality tv show based on “the crew” is now in the works. Footage is already being filmed, but the main production starts with all of the crewmembers living in a house in Vegas and starting the series. The official start date is June 27th.
I’m super stoked. Ideally all seven of the original crew would come back for the show. I haven’t gotten a firm commitment from everybody, but already it looks like there is a strong possibility of a complete crew reunion… complete with the return of Brett “Gank” Jungblut. Hopefully we’ll also be able to get Sheets and Bax to play a role as “The Backers”. There are also going to be three new spots opening up and there will be at least one new female crewmember. There will also be a season two.
I’m in Houston right now working on some treatments and getting everything in order… Saturday it’s off to Antigua to continue making moves in our attempt to “takeover the poker world”. The name of the project right now is simply “The Crew”, but I’m throwing around names and am kind of partial to “The Crew Challenge” e “The Crew Show”. Also think we might rebrand the new crew if any of the old members don’t participate… so if you have any good thoughts about names for the project, I’m all ears. Também, if anyone out there reading this has connections to potential sponsors of the show or networks to pick it up, please do pass them along. As a good friend once told me…
